How to Upgrade your KYC Tier on Kele as a Merchant

Upgrade to Tier 1

As a new Merchant on Kele, you can start your KYC upgrade from Tier 1.

Tier 1 Benefits
Maximum single deposit: ₦50,000  ||  Daily transaction limit (outflow): ₦50,000  ||  Maximum cumulative balance: ₦300,000
  • To upgrade to Tier 1, you will need to enter your valid BVN.
Note: We need to validate your BVN or NIN to be sure that no one is pretending to be you. When you share your BVN and NIN with us, we securely match the details provided with the information on the 

Once your enter your BVN, you need to follow the steps below:

  • Once your BVN has been validated, your biodata information will be updated on the app (First Name, Last Name, Date of birth, and Gender)
  • Proceed to take a Selfie picture for us to confirm your identity.
  • After taking the Selfie, you will be asked to input your Residential Address: House number, Street name, Area, LGA, State.
  • You can then proceed to input your Business details: Name of Business, Category, Description (optional), Staff size (optional).
  • Type in your Business Address.
  • Confirm that all the information captured at this stage is correct.
  • Your KYC Tier 1 account is now created and a unique Kele account number is generated for you.
  • You can now choose to go to the Kele app home page or continue to upgrade to KYC Tier 2.




Upgrade to Tier 2

If you need to enjoy more benefits as a Merchant on Kele, you will need to upgrade from Tier 1 to at least Tier 2.
Tier 2 Benefits
Maximum single deposit: ₦200,000  ||  Daily transaction limit (outflow): ₦200,000  ||  Maximum cumulative balance: ₦500,000

To upgrade to Tier 2, you need your valid NIN.
  • Enter your valid NIN.
  • Once we validate your NIN and it corresponds with your BVN information, you can proceed to the next step.
  • Enter your Next of Kin details: Their First Name, Last Name, Phone number, Relationship (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, etc.), Address, State of Origin, LGA of Origin.
  • Once you click on "Submit", your account is instantly upgraded to KYC Tier 2 successfully.
  • You can now choose to go back to the Kele app home page or continue to upgrade to KYC Tier 3.




Upgrade to Tier 3

If you need to enjoy even higher benefits as a Merchant on Kele, you need to upgrade from Tier 2 to Tier 3.
Tier 3 Benefits
Maximum single deposit: Unlimited  ||  Daily transaction limit (outflow): ₦5,000,000  ||  Maximum cumulative balance: ₦25,000,000

To upgrade to Tier 3, you need to follow the steps below:
  • Click on the upgrade button for Tier 3 or Click on "Profile", tap "Account Limits" and then click on "Upgrade to Tier 3".
  • You will need to choose between these two options: Proof Available or No Proof Available.
Note: Click on "Proof Available" if you have a valid document that has your current address on it (i.e. Utility Bill [Water, Waste & Electricity Bill etc.], Tenancy Agreement, Land Use Charge, Tax Clearance, and Bank Account statement).
If you do not have any valid document that has your current address, please click on "No Proof Available" so that we will use your geo-location to get your address.

  • Click on "Proof Available".
  • Click on "Upload image" and take a clear picture of your document. (Make sure the picture is clear and readable) 
  • Once the picture has been uploaded on the screen, click on Continue.
  • Read the Indemnity agreement and tick the "I agree" box below the agreement.
  • Click on Submit.
  • Your KYC Tier 3 upgrade request will now undergo a manual review by our team. This will be completed within 72 working hours.
No Proof Available
  1. Click on "No Proof Available".
  2. You will be shown a pop-up page that will require you to follow some prompts. Make sure you grant access to the location sharing requests.
  3. After completion of the geolocation request, your address verification will start. This will be completed within 72 working hours.
  4. You can now choose to go back to the Kele app home page or continue to upgrade to KYC Tier 4.



Please note:

— Always ensure that you upload a clear picture of yourself or document whenever you are requested to upload it on the app.
— Always ensure that your document is legible and readable to the naked eyes.
— Bear in mind that all manual reviews for Tier 3 can sometimes take up to 3 working days.
— Make sure that your documents are not expired or unlicensed.
